In honour of the National Trust Australian Heritage Festival, Melville Park is pleased to offer Homestead Stories, a heritage themed Fair on the grounds of Melville Park, APRIL 28th, 2024 11am - 4pm, Includes tours of the homestead, heritage crafts, animals, food - family friendly event.

David Doepel and Barbara Connell are serial, successful entrepreneurs and now co-custodians of the historic Melville Park farm. Over the course of the past 30 years, this husband-and-wife team has been the driving force behind the creation of a number of media, creative arts, technology, and food and beverage businesses.

Now, they are dedicating themselves and their considerable energy and creativity to realizing their vision for Melville Park. As they enter their third year on the farm they are excited to see the vision come to life.
Firstly, we have rehabilitated the disused dairy and retrofitted it for an artisanal cheese factory, featuring les caves d'affinage and using milk that is sole-sourced from a local family dairy.

Firstly, we have rehabilitated the disused dairy and retrofitted it for an artisanal cheese factory, featuring les caves d'affinage and using milk that is sole-sourced from a local family dairy.
Secondly, after a century's absence, we have re-established a market garden on the property prioritizing heirloom fruits and vegetables and utilising agro-ecological farming principles. We have also built a raised bed herb garden and asparagus garden.
Finally, the historic Melville Park barn will become the barrel aging room for a new distillery. Here we will feature Calvados-style apple brandy, whiskey and a traditional vodka from on-farm grown sugar beets and potatoes.
Spring/summer veggies are now being planted. We are in the final throws of getting the cheese factory signed off with regulatory authorities. Spirits are in barrels and will be ready starting May, '24..
Our farm stand has moved to the barn. Currently we are open Saturday mornings 9-noon and by appointment. We will be holding private event
